1,725 jobs up for grabs at recruitment event at Hills Shopping Mall tomorrow

KUCHING: Over a thousand vacancies are up for grabs during a ‘Program Penempatan Pekerjaan’ (Job Placement Programme or 3P) to take place at the Hills Shopping Mall here from 9.30am to 5pm tomorrow (April 9).

Organised by the state Labour Department, the one-day programme aims to provide employment opportunities and job-related information to members of the public.

Various corporations are taking part in the programme to conduct walk-in interviews.

The public are welcomed to file complaints or inquiries about services offered by the department as well as relevant agencies under the Human Resources Ministry during the hour-long programme.

Human Resources Minister Datuk Dr S Subramaniam is expected to open the programme at 10.30am.

A media statement here yesterday revealed that 23 corporations had confirmed taking part in the programme offering a total 1,725 jobs.

It said 10 government departments and agencies would be part of the programme.

The participating corporations and departments need 609 service, shop and sales workers, 571 elementary occupations, 428 technicians and associate professionals, 84 clerical workers, 15 professionals, 12 plant and machine operators and assemblers and six legislators, senior officers and managers.

Among the corporations are Amalgamated Batters Manufacturing (S) Sdn Bhd, Boulevard Hypermarket (Kuching) Sdn Bhd, CIMB Wealth Advisors Bhd, KFC (Sarawak) Sdn Bhd, Public Mutual Bhd, Pullman Hotel Kuching, Regency International Hotel Sdn Bhd, Sacofa Sdn Bhd, Sarawak Information Systems, Taiyo Yuden (Sarawak) Sdn Bhd and YMP Corporation Sdn Bhd.

The government departments include National Occupational Health and Safety Institute, Kota Samarahan Industrial Training Institute, Human Resources and Training Unit of the Chief Minister’s Department, Sarawak Regional Skills Development Department, State Labour Department and Social Security Organisation.
