KUALA LUMPUR: The Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) bagged the World’s Best Airport Immigration Service award at the Skytrax 2011 World Airport Awards in Copenhagen, Denmark recently.

KLIA also retained its place among the world’s top 10 airports with a ninth place finish at the same event.

Malaysia Airport Holdings Bhd, the operator of the KLIA, said in a statement yesterday the win is a reflection of the high service level for immigration formalities at the airport.

“From the feedback received, this is not only in terms of overall service efficiency, but also the quality and courtesy of the individual staff members,” it added.

The World Airport Awards are based on survey results from 11.38 million questionnaires completed by over 100 different nationalities of airline passengers, covering more than 240 airports worldwide. — Bernama
