KUALA LUMPUR: Celcom Axiata Bhd (Celcom) once again clinched the much-coveted Service Provider of the Year Award for the third year running at the 2011 Frost & Sullivan Malaysia Excellence Awards.

This award was conferred to the leading telecommunications provider who showed clear and distinct leadership in key measurement areas such as Subscribers Growth Rate, Revenue, Service Innovation and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Initiatives.

“We are thankful that despite the stiff challenges posed by the industry itself and the ever changing consumer landscape; Celcom excelled beyond industry average and computed a record breaking 19 consecutive quarters of positive growth in the final quarter of 2010.

“This award is a testament to all our hard work and dedication towards our customers,” said Dato’ Sri Shazalli Ramly, chief executive officer of Celcom.

“We recently launched the first and largest SMS based social networking platform called ‘Kolony’ for all our customers to be connected with their social network via their mobile phones.

“Besides giving customers a fun new way to communicate within their social network, this new infectious wave will also create yet another revolutionary step in the mobile industry.

“This attractive offering is ultimately aimed at enhancing the overall superiority of our customer experiences,” he said.

Held for the seventh consecutive year, the Malaysian Awards programme formerly known as the Malaysia Telecoms Awards has now grown into the Malaysia Excellence Awards.
