SERENDAH: Intel Malaysia and MSD Digital Intelligence Sdn Bhd yesterday introduced the Intel Easy Steps Programme in 168 community broadband centres (CBCs) nationwide, to help rural communities access information communication and technology (ICT).

Intel Malaysia Country manager, Sales and Marketing, Prakash Mallya said the company would undertake to provide the services of a senior trainer to conduct a train-the-trainer session for the 168 CBCs selected by MSD.

It has targeted more than 168 trainers to be trained under the programme by June.

“Intel has allocated an annual investment of approximately US$100 million globally for education programmes. We have invested about RM25 million on the education initiatives in Malaysia, including the Intel Learn and Intel Teach.

“Intel Easy Steps Programme is the latest education deployment in Malaysia,” Prakash told reporters after an exchange of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) agreement with MSD in Taman Seri Serendah, Hulu Selangor yesterday.

“The Intel Easy Steps Programme is a community education offered to adult and youth learners with little or no experience with computers and who are in need of basic technology,” he said. — Bernama
