‘BN fully aware of people’s needs’

KOTA KINABALU: The Barisan Nasional (BN) leadership is fully aware of the needs of all the various races in Malaysia, including those affecting the Chinese community.

The BN leadership is striving hard to see that all the needs are met but it is impossible to ensure a 100 per cent satisfaction of every ethnic community, said Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) vice president Datuk Herbert T Lagadan.

According to Lagadan, in Sabah there are various issues which needed to be addressed by BN prior to the 13th general election, especially those relating to infrastructure development and the unresolved illegal immigrants issue.

Commenting on the recently concluded Sarawak state election, Lagadan said the results clearly showed that the majority of the natives and rural population still support Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud’s leadership.

“How could SUPP then exert their demand to get Taib out when the majority still need him? Similarly Datuk Chin Su Pin and Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) should not impose their desire to get Datuk Seri Musa Aman ousted as Chief Minister if the majority of the people still support his leadership,” the Kadamaian assemblyman stressed.

Lagadan pointed out that Musa would not have continued being the Chief Minister if the majority of Sabahans had lost their trust in him.

“I believe that not all Chinese in Sabah are in agreement with Chin and LDP’s call to have Musa ousted,” he said.
