SIBU: Some Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) youth members here have called on their state youth chief Datuk Fadillah Yusof to respond to a statement by Umno youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin.

Khairy had posted a message via Twitter on April 16 that Barisan Nasional (BN) had suffered its greatest loss during the state election, despite the fact that BN won 55 out of the 71 seats.

A PBB youth member, who only wished to be identified as Fauzi, said as the overall leader for the movement, the Deputy Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation should state the wing’s stand.

“We want Fadillah to speak. Give his comment,” Fauzi told The Borneo Post yesterday.

“But until today he has kept silent. Why? From the way I see it, there is a clash.

“It is as if PBB youth now has two camps,” he added but would not elaborate.

He stressed that Khairy’s statement was ill-informed, ‘because BN won with two-thirds majority’.

Several PBB youth members from Mukah and Bintulu have already responded to Khairy’s statement through the media.

On April 16, Khairy tweeted: “But in the cold light of day although we won, we suffered our biggest losses ever in Sarawak. So, Putrajaya, we have a problem. Face facts.”
