KUALA LUMPUR: VisDynamics Holdings Bhd (VisDynamics) expects a better performance this year, backed by the current strong demand in the global semiconductor industry.

Its chief executive officer, Choy Ngee Hoe, said the global market was positioned to grow by 4.6 per cent to US$314 billion this year from US$299.4 billion in 2010.

“We will continue with our efforts to strengthen our position as a world-class one-stop solution centre.

“It will be done with the distinction of in-house core competencies in mechatronics, control automation, machine vision and tuning of high performance equipment,” he told reporters after the company’s annual general meeting here yesterday.

Choy said the company was looking at two new products in the pipeline.

One would be in conventional semiconductor while the other would be mainly for the solar industry.

“We have allocated about 10 per cent of our total revenue last year for the research and development,” he added.

Driven by the strong recovery of semiconductor and electronics business, VisDynamics posted a revenue of RM19.7 million last year, an increase of 516 per cent from RM3.2 million in 2009.

The increase was also due to the improved demand for its automated test equipment. — Bernama
