ADDIS ABABA: Ethiopia and Malaysia have signed a bilateral agreement on air transportation, the Ethiopian Civil Aviation Authority (ECAA) said.

The agreement was signed here by the Planning director of Air Transport at the ECAA, Endeshaw Yigezu, and Datuk Haji Kamaruzaman Mohd Noor, the deputy secretary-general at Malaysia’s Ministry of Transport.

The agreement would strengthen bilateral relations, said the general director of the Authority, Colonel Wosenyeleh Hunegnaw said on the occasion.

Noting that the volume of trade between the two countries was growing, he said the agreement would also contribute to further enhancing the existing co-operation between the two countries.

Datuk Kamaruzaman expressed confidence that the agreement would lead to mutual benefit for both sides and would play a significant role to accelerate development of both parties.

He added that it would also create opportunities for Ethiopian Airlines to expand its services to more destinations in South East Asia. — Bernama
