Taking beauty to new heights

THERE are now products in the market for maintaining youthful skin, especially around the facial area – and one of the raves is the Oxygen Infusion System.

GOOD SKIN: Yeoh and Kathie showing their skincare products.

It provides a continuous, readily available source of therapeutic grade oxygen through a specialised molecular sieve that filters oxygen from the ambient air into the skin.

“This eliminates the need for pressurised, combustible oxygen tanks, making it a very safe system to use.

“Moreover, the inconvenience and costs of refilling, and the fire and safety hazards of storing and handling can also be avoided,” said Eric Yeoh, spokesperson for Intraceuticals, a beauty line promoted by CeleBeauty Sdn Bhd in Karamanunsing, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.

He added that the process was actually quite simple albeit lengthy as the handling had to be “very precise and meticulous.”

“First, the face is thoroughly cleaned with facial products before the blackheads and pimples are scratched off.

“Then oxygen infusion is carried out through the Intraceuticals Infusion System, specifically calibrated to deliver the correct balance of oxygen flow and pressure to produce topicalhyperbaric oxygen.

“Topical hyperbaric oxygen therapy is a technique of delivering 100 per cent oxygen directly to an open, moist wound. It is believed the high concentrations of oxygen diffuse directly into the wound to increase the local cellular oxygen tension which, in turn, promotes healing.”

However, Yeoh pointed out, for beauty care applications, the steps were slightly different.

He said Intraceuticals had modified and refined the technology and applied it to the beauty industry with a delivery system easy to use and maintain, doesn’t look out of place in the skin care environment, and most importantly, achieves results.

The Intraceuticals Oxygen System, he added, drew in the surrounding air (comprising up to 21 per cent oxygen), using a specialised molecular sieve filtration process which delivers a continuous stream of therapeutic grade oxygen.

“The system provides a continuous, readily available, constantly renewable and always reliable source of therapeutic grade oxygen,” Yeoh said, adding that oxygen provides the necessary energy for cells to grow.

“In beauty care, the applicator is shaped to ensure the correct application and serum infusion. When applied under pressure to the tissue surface, it can help promote new cell growth.

“It can also result in accelerated healing and promote the production of collagen and elastin fibres.”

The application of this device includes pressure bubble formed between the tip of the applicator and the skin. Held at a 90- degree angle – one mm or less from the skin surface – it mimics a hyperbaric chamber but on a much smaller scale.

“When the tip of the Intraceuticals Infuser is held at one mm from the skin surface, the pressure of oxygen flow creates an exclusive oxygen area where pressurised oxygen is applied to the skin.

“The pressurised oxygen maximises the skin’s oxygen saturation and initialises osmotic absorption of the serum.

A hyperbaric chamber increases the saturation of oxygen in the external skin tissue and also assists in the rapid absorption of the Intraceuticals Infusions,” Yeoh explained.

Success formulae

Enhancing this product is the Carrier Serum Technology which can penetrate the deeper layers of the skin and re-hydrate and lubricate collagen fibres. Due to its small molecules, it also acts as a foundational dermal hydrator, stimulating collagen synthesis. It also carries other active ingredients such as vitamins, antioxidants, botanicals and amino peptides deep into the skin.

The Carrier Technology, based on research originating in Australia, where some of the world’s most aggressive types of skin cancer occur, was initially discovered and used as a delivery system for topical chemotherapy.

This research identified a new, modified form of Hyaluronic Acid which utilises the same proven moisture binding hydrophilic benefits as traditional HA but because of its lower molecular weight, has the ability to penetrate the deeper layers of the skin where it not only deeply hydrates but also acts as a foundational dermal hydrator, stimulating collagen synthesis.

Additionally, it draws or carries other active and beneficial skin specific ingredients such as vitamins, antioxidants, botanicals and amino peptides deep into the skin.

“The fourth element in our principles of success is the Intraceuticals Hyaluronic Layering,” Yeoh revealed.

“Once your skin has received an Intraceuticals Infusion, the next step is to intensify and maintain your results with the skin care products. All of the Intraceuticals skin care products are based on a unique approach to balancing skin’s moisture levels with our Multi-Weight Hyaluronic Layering Complex,” he said.

According to him, the Multi-Weight Hylaluronic Layering Complex is actually three different types of Hyaluronic Acid — two different weights and one complex which together provide a solution to this common problem in a uniquely modern and uncommon way.

These three different forms of the skin’s natural moisture factor work together to dramatically improve the way your skin holds moisture.

“The Multi–Weight Hyaluronic Layering Complex will ensure the Oxygen Infusion Treatment results last longer and continue to improve. Once the skin’s moisture levels are improved, the skin will be in a healthier more balanced state and better able to defend against both environmental and natural skin aging,” he said.

Beauty jargons aside, sales manager for CeleBeauty, ex-Harvest Festival beauty queen Kathie Renjus said this treatment was recommended for beauty-conscious women who wanted to look good, no matter how old they are.

“The application process follows the same protocols as the other Intraceuticals treatments. The serum is sprayed and infused with our proprietary oxygen technology.”

She added that results were instant with a constant improvement over the course of six treatments and the treatment was safe.

After six treatments, maintenance is once a month. Clients will find the depth of fine lines and wrinkles are reduced and the skin surface is smooth.

“The treatments will tighten the skin. This is an alternative to collagen and Botox injections,” she said.
