Meet the ‘Alien family’ at planetarium

KUCHING: The general public is invited to the Sultan Iskandar Planetarium on May 29 to meet the ‘Alien family’, an event to be held as part of the programme in conjunction with Astronomy Day celebration.

The ‘Alien family’ is actually part of the contests and would be held from 8.30am to 2pm.

The annual Astronomy Day is celebrated by all Planetariums worldwide. This year, it bears the theme ‘Universe Unites US’ which stressed the importance of friendship, family values and races.

Apart from ‘Mencari Alien Family’, other highlighted events include an Astro Hunt, Paper Plane Competition, colouring and drawing contest, Lucky Astronomy, Astro Dart and Mars Rover Challenger.

Many attractive prizes such as astronomy telescopes, binoculars, hampers and free screening tickets for a year await students.

There will also be a demonstration and exhibition by Sarawak Paintball Association (SPA) and Petra Kuching Flying Remote Control Club.

Science, Technology and Innovation (Mosti) deputy minister Datuk Fadillah Yusof and Permanent Secretary to the Ministry of Social Development and Urbanisation Datu Soedirman Aini are expected to grace the event.
