Prime Minister arrives in London for two-day visit

LONDON: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak arrived here on Sunday evening for a two-day visit to the United Kingdom.

The aircraft carrying the prime minister and wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, from Doha, landed at 7.15pm (2.15am Malaysian time) at the London Luton Airport, about an hour’s journey from here.

Najib and Rosmah were greeted on arrival by Malaysian High Commissioner to the United Kingdom Datuk Zakaria Sulong and wife Datin Hazizah Ahmad as well as officials of the Malaysian High Commission.

Najib is here at the invitation of the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies (OXCIS).

While here, the prime minister is scheduled to visit OXCIS’ new site and deliver a lecture, titled “Coalition of Moderates and Inter-Civilisational Understanding.” Najib is also scheduled to announce Bank Rakyat’s contribution for the creation of Tun Abdul Razak Fellowship at the Oxford University.

He is also slated to have tea with Malaysian students here and attend a reception and dinner with senior members of the Oxford University as well as members of the diplomatic corp.

The prime minister will then leave for New York for a working visit to the
