TAWAU: Fourteen fishermen from the Tawau parliamentary constituency received outboard engines from the Rural and Regional Development Ministry on Friday.
The engines were presented by Assistant Finance Minister Datuk Tawfiq Datuk Abu Bakar Titingan at a Juara Rakyat program at Promenade Hotel here.
Tawfiq hoped such equipment could help the fishermen earn additional income.
One of the recipients Ahmad Ali, 61, felt happy with such assistance from the government.
The outboard engine would enable him to go out to sea to catch fishes.
Ahmad, who had been a fisherman for about 40 years, thanked the government for its kind assistance.
Andi Jalil Andi Raja, 50, also felt happy to receive such assistance which could enable him to earn more income for his family.
