“We should not continue to have sweet dreams and enjoy the moment of being in power.

“We must, instead, work hard and ensure that whatever we have today will remain for a long time,” Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Yahya Hussin said in addressing Umno members during the Putatan Parliamentary Juara Rakyat Wanita dan Keluarga programme, yesterday.

The Sabah Umno liaison secretary also urged members to continue organising the programme on a monthly basis to ensure that the party’s machinery would be able to be closer to the people, while recruiting new members and identifying new voters.

“We need to learn what the people think of us, in Umno and in Barisan Nasional.

“We must understand their needs and take note of their grouses,” he said, adding that the programme is also part of the top leaderships’ call to unite the people, regardless of their backgrounds.

The Agriculture and Food Industry Minister also hoped that they would be able to continue to serve the people, for their children and the future generation.
