KUCHING: All Sunkist products manufactured under licence and sold by F&N Dairies (M) Sdn Bhd in Malaysia are free from toxic chemicals and safe for consumption.
Following the recent prohibition imposed by the Health Ministry on food and drink products from Taiwan found tainted with the toxic chemicals, di(2-ethylhexyl)phthalate (DEHP) and di-isononyl phthalate (DINP), F&N Dairies said it did not import any Sunkist products from that country.
Among the restricted products are Uni-President Asparagus Juice by Uni-President Enterprises Corp Taiwan as well as Sunkist Lemon Juice, Sunkist Lemon Juice Drink with Aloe Vera Pulp, Sunkist Orange Juice and Sunkist Orange Juice drinks manufactured by Country House Inc in Taiwan and exported to Malaysia through Sunlight Foods Corp, Taiwan.
“F&N Dairies wishes to assure consumers that all Sunkist products manufactured at its plants meet the highest food safety and product quality standards and adheres to various international accredited methods,” it said in a statement here today.
The plant that manufactures its Sunkist products is Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HAACP) and ISO22000 accredited.
