SIBU: Police raided a flat area in Sibu Jaya last Sunday and arrested two men suspected of involvement in illegal cockfighting.
The police acted at 5pm on a tip-off. A group of men was seen gathered at an open space at the flat area when police arrived at the scene.
They ran helter-skelter on seeing the police, but two men, aged 42 and 51, did not manage to escape.
Police seized three live cocks, one of them had a spur attached.
In an unrelated case, a woman lost her handbag containing RM3,000 cash and some foreign currency notes, jewellery and documents in a house break-in around 10am last Sunday.
The handbag was placed on the staircase of her house in Brooke Drive here.
It was said the woman was sleeping during the break-in.
