MIRI: Miri Member of Parliament Datuk Seri Peter Chin announced a RM20,000 grant to the Northern Sarawak Journalists Association (NSJA) at the installation of its new office bearers here last night.
Chin, who is advisor of the NSJA, called on journalists to be responsible and informative and not be biased in their reporting.
Sensationalism could create uneasiness among the people of various races and religions, said Chin, who is Energy, Green Technology and Water Minister.
Rick Wong of See Hua Daily News is the new president of NSJA. The secretary is Ros Maria Buma of Utusan Borneo. The committee comprises 15 members. – Bernama
