KUCHING: Barisan Nasional (BN) in collaboration with Centre for Modern Management (CMM) is organising a three-day seminar starting from tomorrow until Saturday, widely seen as a prelude for the coming State Legislative Assembly (DUN) sitting.

According to DUN Speaker Dato Sri Awang Mohamad Asfia Awang Nassar, it will be held at the new DUN complex and will deliberate on current and other very pertinent issues which are now hotly debated.

Speaking to reporters yesterday after a rehearsal for the DUN sitting, Asfia said Chief Minister Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud is expected to officiate at the seminar tomorrow.

He did not however disclose the working papers, saying the seminar will be a closed-door affair.

Minister with Special Functions in the Chief Minister’s Office Tan Sri Datuk Amar Adenan Satem and Santubong MP Datuk Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar will deliver their working papers.

The 17th DUN sitting is scheduled from June 20 until 29, and to be addressed by Head of State Tun Datuk Patinggi Muhammad Salahuddin.

Meanwhile, Asfia said a pre-DUN sitting media conference will be held on Friday at 10am.
