Selangau Festival promises an array of activities

SIBU: The Selangau Festival comes back again with a host of interesting activities.

The festival scheduled on July 1 and 2 will be held at Selangau town, about one hours drive from here.

On July 1, Tamin assemblyman Joseph Mauh Ikeh will officiate at the opening ceremony of the festival starting at 9am.

The food fair and futsal, blowpipe and tug-of-war competitions will start at 8am on the same day. Later at 2pm, there will be a semi-final round for the ‘Ratu Kebaya’ contest.

Besides that, local artistes will entertain the visitors to the festival at 2pm.

The festival will continue on July 2 with lucky draw contest, ‘poco-poco’ dance, ‘ngajat’ and ‘kuntau’ performance that will start at 8am.

The final round of ‘Ratu Kebaya’ will be held during the closing ceremony of the festival at 6.30pm at SJK Tong Ah.
