TAWAU: Four car owners lost their vehicle tyres at four different locations here yesterday. A Toyota Hilux Vigo parked behind a hotel here had all its four tyres stolen.
The theft was believed to have happened around midnight as there was a heavy downpour and strong winds.
It is believed to have been committed by more than one person who used pieces of wood and cement blocks to support the vehicle after removing the tyres.
At Tanjung Batu, a Toyota Unser parked inside a fenced house also lost its tyres. The owner found out about the theft when he woke up in the morning.
And at Pasir Putih, a 38-year-old woman who was about to send her son to school around 6am, was shocked to see her Perodua Kenari without any tyres.
The victim said she bought the tyres and rims a year ago for about RM2,000.
Another car owner at Mile 4 Apas, Kampung Kinabutan Laut lost both rear tyres of his Proton saga that was parked in front of the house.
