PWPM and MRC organising ‘We Care We Share’ projects

MIRI: Persatuan Wanita Petroleum Miri (PWPM) and Malaysian Red Crescent (MRC), Miri chapter, are working together on several Shell funded projects under the banner of Shell Centenary Mega “We Care We Share” community project.
With focus on reaching out to the public, sharing valuable knowledge and creating awareness, PWPM and MRCS have come up with the following programmes.
Health Screening and visit to the Rh Misoon longhouse on July 9: a health talk by Dr Uma Devi of Polyclinic Tudan for the benefit of the longhouse folks, followed by a health screening.
There will also be an Occupational Therapy and a Children’s corner.
PWPM will also be donating some used clothes and second hand children story books.
On July 23, there will be a health talk on menopause in collaboration with PUSTAKA Miri from 9am -11am at PUSTAKA’s auditorium, Miri.
The talk will be conducted by specialist doctors from the Gynecology Department of the Miri Hospital.
There will also be sharing of individual’s experiences session after the talk.
A Health Talk and Health Screening will be held from 11am – 3pm on the same day on the 3rd Floor, Boulevard Shopping complex.
The talk by Dr Uma Devi will deal among others cholesterol levels, blood sugar and Lipid levels.
The health screening will be held after the talk.
Besides inviting the general public, members of PWPM as well as staff of Shell are encouraged to turn up.
Patron of PWPM, Mariani Ibrahim, the wife of Shell Malaysia chairman En.Anuar Taib, is expected to be present at one if not all of the events.
Apart from the upcoming projects, PWPM had also been actively involved in organising programmes either on their own or jointly with other non-governmental organisations.
Among its recent community project was its participation in the International Dance for Humanity (IDFH), an annual fundraising programme organised by the Miri chapter of the Malaysian Red Crescent.
