KOTA MARUDU: A 15-year-old youth was detained by police for allegedly having carnal intercourse with a 10-year-old boy at a village near here.
The incident believed happened on Wednesday when the victim was on the way to a river at Kampung Marasimsim here to see some friends.
The suspect, who was at the area then, invited the victim for a swim in the river where he then forced him to have carnal intercourse with him.
The victim tried to fight back but failed.
After the alleged incident, the victim returned home and related the incident to his mother who then lodged a police report at the Kota Marudu police station.
District police chief DSP Mohd Isa Yusof said acting on the report, the suspect was immediately detainedon the same day at Kampung Marasimsim.
The suspect has been remanded and would be investigated under Section 377 C of the Penal Code for committing carnal intercourse, which carries a jail term of between five to 20 years plus fine and whipping if found guilty, said Isa.
The victim has also been taken to the Kota Marudu district hospital for examination, he added.
