KABUL: A Taliban spokesman today denied rumours that the movement’s leader Mullah Mohammed Omar, had died or been killed following Afghanistan’s main intelligence service had reported that the spiritual leader had disappeared from his alleged Pakistan hideout.

Zabihullah Mujahid claims that the enemies of Taliban have hacked his mobile phone and sent false text messages to media this morning reporting the death of Mullah (Amir ul Mumainin).

“The report about the death of Mullah Omar is merely propaganda to demoralise Mujahideen. Mullah Omar is alive, inside Afghanistan and is leading Mujahideen against foreign troops,” Zabihulla Mujahid told China’s Xinhua news agency.
