KUCHING: Police arrested a man from Tabuan Dayak yesterday morning after he was alleged to have raped a teenager during a drinking session at his house.
The 28-year-old was detained around 9am after the victim, aged 18, lodged a police report against him.
According to a source, the girl was said to have gone to the suspect’s house the previous night for a drinking session with the man and his friends.
When she awoke in the morning, she found herself naked in bed with the man sleeping beside her and, suspecting she had been raped, went home and related the incident to her mother.
The suspect is being detained to facilitate investigation.
In a separate matter, police detained a 28-year-old man from Kampung Haji Baki following an incident last Saturday in which he slashed a motorist for not giving him way.
The suspect was detained on Monday night after police were able to trace the license plate number of his car to his house.
Police also recovered a machete from the suspect’s car, believed to have been used in the attack.
He is currently being held pending further investigation.
