KOTA KINABALU: Police detained 17 foreigners, including a woman, after they tested positive for drugs during an operation at Kampung Bakau in Likas here yesterday.

City police chief ACP Ahmad Sofi Zakaria said during the operation, 66 people, including six women, were rounded up on suspicion of drug abuse.
“They were all taken to the city police headquarters and after preliminary urine tests, 16 men and a woman tested positive for drugs,” he told reporters yesterday.
Sofi said five police officers and 44 personnel including Rela personnel were involved in the two-hour operation.
He said police would continue to carry out a similar operation from time to time and urged the public to cooperate with the police by providing valuable tips.
