Eight held over causing hurt incidents

SANDAKAN: The police here arrested eight youths on Monday for alleged involvement in two cases of causing hurt at Batu 4.

District police chief ACP Rowell Marong said yesterday all the suspects were remanded for four days to facilitate police investigations into the cases.

In the first case, the police believed that the suspects had hurt a couple who both received more than 13 stitches in the heads.

They had also harmed several victims, he added.

In an unrelated incident, police received a report from a complainant who claimed that a laptop and a camera worth RM7,500 went missing from an office.

Meanwhile, SMK Batu Sapi had lodged a police report claiming that the school’s computer room was broken into and a laptop and some videos went missing.

It was further stated that the CCTV was not functioning.

Rowell said the police were investigating the three cases.
