KUCHING: The Obedient Wives Club (OWC) Sarawak branch will hold its soft launch at Saddad Food Garden and Restaurant, Jalan Kulas tomorrow (Aug 7) at 5pm.

The public, especially wives, are welcome to attend the event which includes a free course and a breaking of fast dinner.

OWC Malaysia president Fauziah Ariffin said currently the Sarawak branch has 200 members while the total for the whole of Malaysia is 1,020 members. All the members are Muslims and Bumiputeras, she said, but added that the club is open to all religions and races.

“We do receive calls from non-Bumiputeras who seek our counselling and we receive positive feedback after that.

“In fact, we receive more positive feedback from our members that their marriages are happier and that their husbands are pleased and stay faithful as well as loyal to their marriage,” she told a press conference yesterday.

The course, which will be conducted tomorrow, she said, aims to create awareness and better understanding of the club’s role in helping married couples with healthier relationships.

She explained that members would learn how to serve their husbands better than first-class prostitutes.

“Most husbands who flirt and seek prostitutes outside come from unhappy marriages. Here, we want to guide and teach wives how to treat their husbands better so that they will have a happy and healthy married life,” she said.
