KUANTAN: The immediate family members of French tourist Stefanie Foray, who was believed to be murdered and buried in a cave on Pulau Tioman, have arrived here yesterday for DNA testing.

The victim’s mother and sister arrived at noon accompanied by officers from the French embassy and policemen at the Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital (HTAA), here.

According to police sources, the hospital took blood samples from the family members to be matched with Foray’s skeletal remains.

Pahang CID chief SAC T Narenasegaran was also present at the hospital upon their arrival until before they entered the mortuary for about half an hour.

However, the media was not issued any statement and failed to interview the victim’s family members.

On Aug 8, a police team headed by Narenasagaran found the victim’s remains wrapped like a mummy, as well as a sling bag believed to be Foray’s.

Foray was reported to have left for Pulau Tioman on a ferry from Mersing on May 10. — Bernama
