12 make it to final of Carlsberg Diamond Idol

KOTA KINABALU: Twelve finalists will compete in the grand final of the inaugural Carlsberg Diamond Idol here on September 3 at IceBar.

They are Lu Siau Fung (Kota Kinabalu), Agnescia Jame (Kota Kinabalu), Chin How Word (Sandakan), Au Ying Ling (Sandakan), Chua Bun Hau (Tawau), As Bryan Amre (Tawau), Jesper Mimoi (Kuching), Adeline Tan Ai Ling (Kuching), Chong Vun Jien (Miri), Chan Sit Lan (Miri), Jackson Yew Swee Zen (Bintulu) and Andy Hadrian Mamong Anak Bapai (Bintulu).

The 12 finalists were champions and first runners-up from Kota Kinabalu, Sandakan and Tawau, Kuching, Miri and Bintulu.

The winner of the grand final will walk away with RM8,000 and a trophy and to be crowned as the inaugural Carlsberg Diamond Idol 2011.

A total of 200 contestants participated in this inaugural singing competition. They performed incredibly well during the preliminary rounds.

Vic Teo, who was second runner-up of Malaysian Idol Season 1 and Marsha, who was fourth in Akademi Fantasia Season 3, were present during the preliminary rounds as main judges.

“The 12 finalists have the talent to wow the crowd, and I hope they will be able to give their best performance in the grand final too.

“Carlsberg did a good job in organizing the event as we uncovered many hidden talents among the people in East Malaysia,” he said.

Meanwhile, Marsha stated that she wished to see Carlsberg Diamond Idol held every year as it is a fantastic platform for aspiring singers.

Vic Teo and Marsha will be present during the grand final in Kota Kinabalu as main judges as well as to perform.
