SIBU: The  police  are  looking  for a vagabond to help in the probe of an attempted rape at daybreak on July 24 when a worker of a bakery shop at Lanang Road was dragged, stripped and nearly raped on the five-foot-way.

HAVE YOU SEEN HIM?: Police believe this man can help them probe a case of attempted rape.

They have the photograph of the man but no details of him.

Police describe the vagabond as medium built with dark complexion.

They believe he would be easily recognised as he has been wandering the streets and sleeping on the five-foot way.

At times, he was only clad in underwear.

In  the  crime  on  July   24,    the  24-year-old  woman was opening her bread shop for the day’s business.

Her parents were busy baking in the back room.

The small-built woman was approached by the man clad only in underwear.

The man got hold of the woman, stripped her and tried to rape her.

The woman suffered cuts and bruises on her face and both arms in the scuffle.

After breaking free, she ran into the shop for help.

The man ran away naked.

Police believe he has gone into hiding.

Those who know the whereabouts of the vagabond are requested to contact the nearest police station or Sibu Central Police Station at 084-336144.
