KOTA KINABALU: A consumer who lost two boxes of goods and other things in his car, won his claim against a shipping company for failing to deliver its services.

Roslan Abdul Haru who paid RM4,300 to the company to send his goods from Melaka to Shah Alam and after that to Kota Kinabalu and Semporna, was not happy for its negligence.

“I paid them the total amount for the services but at the end of the day, two of my boxes lost and other goods in my car were also not there.

“They have promised to pay my losses but they never did until today. That is why I am claiming for the expenses that I paid to the company and also some of my traveling expenses from Semporna to the city for this claiming process,” he said.

Tribunal president Datuk Lawrence S.H. Thien ordered the company to pay Roslan RM4,300 within 14 days.

In a separate case yesterday, the tribunal ordered a workshop to pay RM350 to its client for the payment of car engine service that he did not enjoy and RM200 tow service.

The claimant, Zakariah Aris, had paid the workshop but was not satisfied with the way it handled the situation.

Zakariah said he decided to send his car to another workshop because the mechanic had checked his car, including opening his car engine without permission.
