MIRI: Persatuan Wanita Petroleum Miri (PWPM) will hold a charity funfair and dinner on Oct 15 and Nov 12 respectively to raise fund for three local charitable organisations here.

Its president Rose Kinajil said the two charity events are organised to commemorate the association’s 25th anniversary.

“PWPM has always been focused on reaching out to the public, sharing valuable knowledge and working together to raise funds to help the lessfortunate.”

All proceeds from the charity funfair and dinner will be donated to Palliative Care Association of Miri, Miri Red Crescent Dialysis Centre and Miri Autistic Association.

She called on the public to support these charities, saying any form of donation, whether in cash, cheque or in kind is welcomed.

The charity fun fair will be held at the Kelab Rekreasi Petroliam in Lutong from 10am to 3pm.

It is open to the public and entrance is free.

Rose said KRP had pledged to donate a portion of all sales made during the day at the Rasa Kita Catering Café, KRP Lounge and KRP Ice-cream stall.

The main events for the day will be fancy dress and colouring competitions. Both events are open to boys and girls in three age groups (Category A: 4-6 years old; Category B: 7-9 years old and Category C: 10-12 years old).

Global Art Miri is jointly organising the colouring competition, as well as other colouring activities and face painting.

There will also be a Kids’ Corner (with bouncy castle, game booths, telematches), PWPM’s own baked goods and handicraft stall, a variety of local food and handicraft stalls as well as an International Food Corner (featuring among others Dutch, Indonesian, Indian and Nigerian dishes).

“We would also like to invite interested vendors to set up stalls to sell their products and to promote their business. Help us make this a successful event,” Rose urged.

For further information, interested vendors or donors can contact organising chairperson Penny Saw at 016-8603648.
