Regatta ends with entertaining water performances

KUCHING: The 2011 Sarawak Regatta and IWWF Wakeboard World Cup ended with  the boat WangsaMas of Team Dewa winning the ‘King of the River’ title, breaking the previous record with a best time of 6 minute 59.12 seconds.

The final day of the event was graced by Head of State Tun Abang Mohammad Salahuddin who flagged off the final 30 paddlers Men (King of the River) race.

The crowd was also entertained by a performance from the famous ‘Stars of Florida’ who performed breath-taking acts and barefoot waterskiing.

Among those present were Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Alfred Jabu, Tourism and Heritage Minister Datuk Amar Abang Johari Tun Openg, Petra Jaya MP Datuk Fadillah Yusof and IWWF president Kuno Ritschard.
