KENINGAU: The police arrested a local man suspected of molesting an underage girl at a wedding in a village here on September 17.
District police chief Deputy Superintendent Zahari Mohamed said yesterday that a self-employed suspect, aged 21 years old, had violated the 13-year-old victim at 10.15 pm.
He said the victim’s mother, a 34-year-old housewife, had made a police report over the incident.
“The complainant who attended the wedding of her nephew at the village, said her daughter was molested by the suspect while sleeping in one of the rooms of the house,” he said.
Zahari said the suspect who was drunk, had taken off the victim’s pants and squeezed her breasts in the room of the house.
The suspect who lived in the same village with the victim, was detained for further investigated under Section 354 of the Penal Code.
