Host team exponents reign at Tang Soo Do championship

KUCHING: Host SMK Datuk Patinggi Haji Abdul Gapor emerged overall champion of Kuching Open Tang Soo Do Championship at the school’s hall here recently.
The host team beat nine other schools with 14 gold medals, 10 silver medals and seven bronze medals.
First runner up was SMK Tun Abang Haji Openg with five gold, 11 silver and seven bronze medals.
The second runner up was SMK Sg Maong with five gold, three silver and one bronze medals, followed by SMK Batu Lintang with four gold, three silver and five bronze medals.
A total of 130 students took part in the 40 category event which starts from 9am to 6pm. Four 4th Dan black belt masters, Hasbi, Juwen, Allan Anis and Ricky Sim preside over the event with other black belters helping as ring side judges and Hyung judges.
The annual competition was organised by Kuching division Tang Soo Do Association.
The National Tang Soo Do championship shall be held in Kota Bahru, Kelantan on Dec 10 to 11 and will be participated by the host, Perak, Melaka, Selangor and Sarawak.
