KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysians are advised to defer their travel plans to Yemen until the security situation in that country has returned to normal.

The Foreign Ministry, in a statement issued here yesterday, also advised Malaysians in Yemen, who had yet to register with the Malaysian Embassy in Sana’a, the capital of Yemen, to do so.

It said the ministry had contacted Malaysian citizens in Yemen and advised them to take the necessary precautions, as well as to keep abreast with the development in the country.

The ministry, it said, was monitoring the situation in Yemen and advised Malaysians studying or working in the country to return home voluntarily. — Bernama
