KAMPUNG GAJAH: Information, Communication and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Dr Rais Yatim said that only political stability, peace and economic prosperity can boost mutual respect and cooperation between the people.
He said such an environment would enable the people to unite, and demonstrate excellence in creativity.
“Unity in cultural values and practices provides an example to the international community that culture and harmony in the country could be nurtured,” he said when opening the Programme to Popularise Cultural Heritage, here yesterday.
He said his ministry would continue to propagate the cultural diversity inherited by the multi-racial community as an invaluable treasure to the country.
Rais said the success of the 1Malaysia concept together with a fair and equitable leadership had enabled the country to continue to preserve tradition and culture which had been inherited long ago.. — Bernama
