MIRI: Persatuan Kedayan Sibuti chairman Ripin Lamat said the new state cabinet ministers and assistant ministers were a balanced statewide representation that reflect the maturity of party members and leaders, and ensured leadership continuity.

Ripin said this mixture of veterans and younger generation reflected the prevailing consensus culture within the party.
The new team would continue implementing plans and policies for the second wave of development by party president Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud, ushering in a developed knowledgeable society and developed state by year 2020.

“Continuity, cooperation and unity of the new team must be in place to ensure all tasks entrusted by the president are carried out and there is continuity,” Ripin said.

The Lambir assemblyman pointed out that everyone in the new Cabinet line-up had a role to play, and former leaders a wealth of experience the younger generations could benefit from.

“Though not holding any party post, the veterans can guide the younger generation with their experience.
“The minority Kedayan community wish to thank Pehin Sri for allocating the community a representative to be an assistant minister,” he said, commenting on the appointment of Bekenu assemblywoman Rosey Yunus.
