PENAMPANG: United Pasokmomogun KadazanDusun Murut Organisation (Upko) Komulakan Chief Ewon Benedick said the proposed friendly contests can produce a better post-election government as the electorate vote for the manifesto of their choice.

“Let us have friendly contests and let the rakyat make their choice. It is better than the rakyat voting against Barisan Nasional,” he said in a statement yesterday.

According to Ewon, friendly contests will also solve the problem of seat allocation, over which

BN component parties are now openly quarreling.

Ewon said a youth and a voter like him would like to see a more concrete solution to the issue of illegal immigrants and Project IC.
