KOTA KINABALU: United Borneo Front (UBF), a network grouping for Sabahans and Sarawakians to assert their rights, is well accepted in the northern part of the state, especially around the Pitas area.

UBF Pitas chairman Maklin Masiau in his press release recently said his team had been to 27 villages around the district since the launching of the movement at the end of last year.

“I can see that the Muslim community has also started to open their eyes about what Sabahans should get from the formation back then, as evidenced during the UBF Hari Raya open house at Dataran Bengkoka, Pitas, on Oct 1,” said Maklin.

He said UBF founder Datuk Dr Jeffrey Kitingan launched the open house that was attended by 102 guests from the various political parties, adding that it did not matter which political party they belonged to as the most
important was that they should know the history behind the formation.

Maklin said Jeffrey urged the people of Pitas to realise their rights as one of the partners in the formation as there had been many promises, especially the 20 Points which had been violated.
