KUCHING: A dialysis centre, the first of its kind here, will begin operating in Dalat Hospital Mukah on Oct 18.

Welfare, Women and Family Development Minister Datuk Fatimah Abdullah said the centre would enable local residents to receive dialysis treatment.

The Health Ministry that will take care of the renovation works on the centre will maintain the two contributed machines.

“As you know, dialysis treatment uses a lot of water. We would like to extend our thanks to Weida Resources Sdn Bhd for approving the application for a water tank to solve the water problem in Dalat area.

“The water tank will help smoothen the operations of the dialysis centre,” Fatimah said.

Weida has also approved a total of 43 tanks to be contributed to three longhouses in Dalat, SJK Sun Sun Narub and Sabtu Bazaar in Oya.

Weida representatives Tan Yak Khoon and Jeffery Bay Boon Kui presented the approved applications yesterday.
