48-year-old man electrocuted while taking a shower

KUCHING: A man found dead in his bathroom yesterday morning was believed to have been electrocuted.

His body was discovered lying on the floor and his hand was holding the shower.

It was believed the electric current originated from the water heater, as there was evidence he was taking a bath when the incident happened.

The deceased, Mohamad Nesruddin Saji, 48, from RPR Tondong Batu Kawa was alone at home during the time.

His wife, who is from Serian was away attending to her parents who were sick at home.

The deceased was found dead by his adopted grandchild who happened to pass by the deceased’s house and felt something was wrong.

Seeing what had happened, he quickly called for help from the police and civil defence.

Rescuers from the civil defence who arrived at the scene had to cut off the electric supply to the house before they could rescue the deceased.

The medical team from Sarawak General Hospital who also arrived at the scene tried to save him but he was confirmed dead.
