KOTA KINABALU: Deputy Youth and Sports Minister Datuk Razali Haji Ibrahim supports Sabah’s ‘Say No to Sharks Fin Soup’ campaign but he says it is not an easy matter to achieve.

Razali explained that this is because the challenges are big and it is linked closely with the industry.

However, he recognised the need to preserve the environment, livelihood and the habitat.

“They will eventually succeed. It is a noble move. I support this resolution to oppose the serving of sharks fin soup,” he said after attending a dinner organised by the Tanjung Aru Junior Chamber International (JCI)  chapter in conjunction with JCI Malaysia’s annual national convention (ANC) here.

The ‘Say No to Sharks Fin Soup’ campaign launched by JCI Tanjung Aru has received support from the people and the state government.

Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister Datuk Masidi Manjun said by early next year, shark hunting is expected to be illegal in Sabah.
