TAWAU: Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) will stick with their plan not to join Pakatan Rakyat (PR) but will work together with other opposition parties (Ops).
Veteran politician Datuk Mohd Noor Mansoor said SAPP was a local opposition party and it was not wrong if SAPP would not join PR.
Mohd Noor, who is a former State finance minister, said they would respect the other OPs but would not to be misused or manipulated by them. He said SAPP wished to have sincere cooperation or negotiations from the other OPs.
He told the media this at a press conference at Emas Hotel here yesterday morning.
Also present were SAPP deputy president Haji Amde Sidik @ Hamdi, treasurer-general Duli @ Dullie bin Marie, vice-president Datuk Chua Soon Bui, as well as Supreme Council members Kenneth Goh Piang Kiong and Yong Chong Kim.
Meanwhile, SAPP deputy president Haji Amde Sidik @ Hamdi disclosed that SAPP was only interested in struggling for Sabah and for Sabahans.
Meanwhile, vice-president Datuk Chua Soon Bui said the party would organise a ‘cyber-media’ training for youths on October 26, at SAPP office, Takada here. The programme would start at 10am and open to all youngsters in Tawau.
Chua said SAPP leaders would tour Sabah and that the party had fully prepared their election machinery.
She said a list of SAPP candidates for Tawau would be announced by the party committee presidential council at the appropriate time.
