KUCHING: The weeks of training served Elizabeth Wee well when she was crowned Miss Borneo Beautiful 2011 at last night’s much anticipated grand final.
BORNEAN BEAUTIES: The Miss Borneo Beautiful finalists opened the grand finals yesterday in full colour and pageantry. For results of the pageant, log on to www.theborneopost.com.
The 22 year-old accounting student wrested the crown from first-runner up Shayndee Dunstan, 20, in a nail biting finale held at Riverside Majestic Hotel.
Julies Lucas, 24, came second runner up followed by Natasha Nur Amarina, third runner up and Adira Kamil, fourth runner up.
Five subsidiary titles were also given out, namely:
Miss Goodwill – Princess Alma Ridi;
Miss Talent -Cammielye Oliver;
Miss Personality – Sharifah Nadzirah;
Miss Photogenic – Farahana Zita and
Miss Friendship – Magretta Jawai.
Adira, 23, also won the Miss Popular title decided by SMS voting. She received a Samsung Galaxy Tab from Axiata Celcom.
Held for the third consecutive year, MBB is organised by Alaric Soh of Alaric’s Production Company.
Soh is also the creator and organiser of the Miss Tourism Intercontinental, Miss Tourism Pageant and Miss Cheongsam pageants.
