KUALA LUMPUR: Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) advised the public to prioritise electrical safety guidelines during the flood season.

In a statement here yesterday, TNB said floods could cause trees or branches to crash on electrical cables.

“The public is advised not to get near, touch or move the electrical cables whether on land or in water,” the statement said.

The guideline also said the public must also switch off the main switch and keep electrical appliances in high places when evacuating their homes.

TNB would continue to monitor flood situations from time to time and any situation deemed dangerous should be reported immediately to TNB’s Call Management Centre at 1-5454 or any TNB office within 24 hours, the statement added. — Bernama
