BUTTERWORTH: The 1Malaysia professional aerobatic team (Krisakti) will be a new attraction at Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA 2011).

Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) operations chief Left Gen Datuk Ackbal Abdul Samad said the formation of Krisakti followed discussion between the Ministry of Defence (MOD), RMAF and Aerotree Defence & Services Sdn Bhd.

“Aerotree has offered to assist the government to form the team in a private sector-government non-profit partnership,” he said after checking final preparation for LIMA, here yesterday.

Ackbal said as a national aerobatic team, Krisakti could be invited to perform by MOD for independence day celebration.

The Krisakti team includes a former Red Arrows pilot currently training with The Blades aerobatic team from United Kingdom.

“Krisakti will put on a show for its official launch by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak on Dec 6,” said Ackbal.

The aerocatic team will use the German-made Extra 300L propeller aircraft for the aerial display.

RMAF will be represented by a Sukhoi, two F15 and four MiG aircraft for the show at LIMA 2011 from Dec 6-11.
