KENINGAU: Kampung Nandagan branch chairman and Youth chief of Parti Bersatu Rakyat Sabah (PBRS) here have resigned from the party as they were unhappy with the bias distribution of zinc subsidy in the village.

PBRS branch chairman Justin Ampanit yesterday claimed that the village chief and Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK) chairman were unfair when distributing zinc provided by Pensiangan member of parliament Tan Sri Joseph Kurup.

Even some villagers also expressed their disappointment, he said and added that not all the villagers were listed as recipients.

He said such things should not have happened because the distribution of zincs from the government should have been carried out fairly by the village chief and the JKKK chairman because as heads of the local community, they should know the people under their jurisdiction.

“This matter should not happen because we are residents of the village and we are also entitled to receive whatever assistance from the government such as the distribution of zinc,” he said with frustration.

Justin decided to resign from his post and quit the party with immediate effect as the village chief and JKKK chairman did not put his name in the list of recipients for zinc subsidy.

The village’s PBRS Youth chief, Jairry Bawis, also resigned from his post and quit the party immediately.

“We are very disappointed with the village head and JKKK chairman here for failing to carry out their duties and responsibilities fairly,” they said.
