Love-sick youth tries to ‘kidnap’ ex-girlfriend

KUCHING: A teenager had the fright of her young life when her infatuated ex-boyfriend forcibly tried to remove her from her house so that he could marry her.

The 18-year-old from Kampung Tabuan Lot awoke from her sleep around 12.30am yesterday after hearing someone knocking on the front door.

Thinking her father had returned from work, the groggy girl unlocked the door and was making her way back to her bedroom when she was grabbed around the neck from behind.

She then found herself being dragged out of her house and, fearing a sexual predator had gotten hold of her, screamed to her mother for help.

It was only after her ‘abductor’ tried to calm her down that the teen realised the person who grabbed her was her former boyfriend.

At that moment, the girl’s mother came out of her bedroom and confronted the youth, who confessed he was still in love with the teenager and was determined to marry her.

The girl’s mother scolded him for his foolishness and managed to convince him to  leave their house.

However, worried that the love-sick youth might show up again, the teen and her mother both headed to the police station and lodged a report of the incident.
