FESTIVE CHEER: Chi hands out a Christmas ‘angpow’ to a young visitor.

KUCHING: Khind-Mistral (Borneo) Sdn Bhd donated physiotherapy equipment to Kuching and Samarahan Division Cerebral Palsy Association (Wishesland).

It also held a ‘gotong-royong’ to tidy up the centre’s compound and a Christmas party for some 70 children from Community-Based Rehabilitation Centre (PDK) Siburan and Wishesland members.

Khind-Mistral director Chan Tuck Kwai told thesundaypost after handing over the equipment that he first became aware of Wishesland when one of his staff had a child with cerebral palsy (CP).

Chan was impressed with how patient and anger-free the parents were despite the circumstances, which created interest in learning more about how the company could help.

“We have to take care of society sometimes. Most people just work hard but they don’t know what other people in society need,” he said.

Around 30 Khind-Mistral staff members took part in the celebration.

Wishesland president Chi Poh Yong thanked Khind-Mistral and all involved.

He hoped this project would make society more aware of Wishesland and the work they do.

“I hope parents with CP children bring them to the centre so we can intervene and help speed up their recovery,” he said.

He encouraged other companies to lend a helping hand by absorbing some of their operation costs.
