KUCHING: To support the growth of the local small medium industry (SMI) and small medium enterprise (SME) sector, BlueScope Engineering Systems offers ‘Ranbuild’ solution, light-weight cold-form galvanised steel buildings that help reduce cost and improve time-to-market.

Delivered as a complete kit, the durable galvanised steel pre-engineered building solution was expected to cost approximately 20 per cent less than conventional mild steel method.

“The SMI/SME sector play a critical role in the nation’s economy. It accounts for about 99 per cent of total business establishments in Malaysia and contributed 31 per cent of the nation’s gross domestic product (GDP) in 2010,” said its general manager Leong Wai Yuan in a press release yesterday.

“The sector is growing rapidly, and to cater to the increasing demand for buildings, the Ranbuild modular structure is a better, cheaper and faster solution that will allow SMIs and SMEs to expand quickly to meet their needs,” he added.

Ranbuild technology resulted in savings of up to 20 per cent in building costs and a 50 per cent faster completion rate compared with traditional methods. It could be used in the construction of small and large factory buildings, warehouses, poultry buildings and futsal covers.

With the Ranbuild Design System (RDS), quotations and detailed architechtural and engineering drawings are produced quickly and accurately. Structures are also guaranteed a longer life span with cold-form galvanised steel components making it resistant to corrosion.

“We want to ensure that building investment lasts for a long time. The speed of construction will also enable SMIs and SMEs to get to market sooner,” added Leong.

Ranbuild Malaysia is a building solutions provider under BlueScope Lysaght Sdn Bhd, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of BlueScope Steel Ltd, the largest steel group in Australia and Asia.
